Success Celebrated At NT Motorsports Awards

The Beachside Pavilion at the Mindil Beach Casino Resort hosted a large gathering of motorsport identities and special guests on Saturday 7 February, for the annual NT Motorsports Awards.

Highlights of the night included:

  • 5 Awards for Katherine Speedway, an unprecedented result for a regional motorsport venue that is achieving great things on the track and within their local community.

  • Back to back Sportsperson of the Year Awards for Alice Springs Drag Racer Dan Hodgins.

  • Darwin’s Top End Dirt Karts won the prestigious Event of the Year and club member Lucas Knight won the Junior Driver Award.

  • Hidden Valley Road bike junior racers Liam Fookes and Owen Todd won the Future Star and Junior Rider awards respectively.

  • 5 special guests in attendance: Deputy Chief Minister Gerard Maley; Ministers Jinson Charls, Marie-Clare Boothby and Steve Edgington, and Federal MP Luke Gosling OAM.
