The Alice Springs Off Road Race Club (ASORRC) was established in 1984 and operates from a remote site at Orange Creek, approximately 40 km south of Alice Springs on Old South Road.

The track is designed to host off-road racing for both two- and four-wheel vehicles and is well known for its dry, dusty terrain, extreme heat in summer, and freezing conditions in winter.

Despite these environmental extremes, the venue delivers a high-energy racing experience and draws significant visitation, particularly during major event weekends. The site features extensive camping areas and multiple service facilities tailored to support multi-day race meets.
