Member Protection Information Officer Training Course in Darwin
What is a Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO)?
A person who is the first point of call in a club or sporting organisation who handles any enquiries, concerns or complaints about harassment and abuse.
The course aims to prepare and train prospective Member Protection Information Officers to: Recognise inappropriate behavior in sporting environments.
Define discrimination, harassment and child abuse and identify the relevant legislation that applies to sport.
Understand the legal and moral rights and obligations of individuals and organizations under the anti-discrimination and child protection law.
Understand the complaint resolution process and the range of options available to resolve complaints.
