Mel was first introduced to Territory motorsport in 1996 , her husband
being a participant in various events held by the Darwin Motorcycle 
Club and at the time the Top End Junior Moto X Club. Always a keen 
photographer, Mel decided in 2005 that it was time to register her 
business and make motorsport photography her full time sport. Mel then 
approached other motorsporting clubs in Darwin to provide her photographic
services. A great response has led to Mel's business having a large 
involvement within the motorsport clubs providing promotional material 
and photos for their competitors, friends and family. She has also created 
a wonderful rapport within the motorsporting community.  Being Territory 
proud Mel would love to see motorsport in the Territory become world famous !

Grant Hamon was first involveded in motor sport in the early 1980's 
competing in Street Stocks for several years at theTennant Creek 
Speedway before getting involved with Go-Kart racing.  He instigated 
and implemented the Tennant Creek Street Circuit Go-Kart Grand Prix
in the 1990's which soon became Tennant Creek's major event and 
operated for 13 years. Grant got involved with the Darwin Karting 
Association (DKA) in 1996, becoming Vice President of the DKA in 1999 
and President in 2000 still  retaining this postion today. 
In 2002, Grant was asked to take on the role of President of the Northern 
Territory MotorSports Council. The then elected  Sports Minister Jack Ah 
Kit moved to replace the TMSB in August 2002 and replace it with an 
interim Board until a new Peak Body for Motor Sports was formed in 
February 2007. Grant now heads  up MotorSports NT as interim President 
until elections are held in July 2008.

Chris Renehan has been racing a dirt Go Kart at Northline Speedway 
since 1994. Also serving on the Northline Speedway Committee in that 
time. He has won the title twice, and has competed all over  Australia, 
where he is ranked thirteenth. Currently he serves on  the Speedway 
Management Board, The Board of Combined Northern Territory 
Speedways, as well as Motorsports NT.

Chris Lovewell has been involved with Motor sports for over 30 years.
His initial introduction was at the Surfers Paradise international  Drag 
way in Queensland where he produced excellent 'Street Drag'  times. 
Following a good mate into the local Queensland Speedway scene,  
Chris was involved in providing pit crew support. This involvement  
provided him with a greater appreciation and awareness of many 
different aspects of Motor Sport, both as a driver and as a supporting
crew member.  In 2001 after being in Darwin for some time Chris joined 
the Top End Mud Racing Association (TEMRA) as a competitor in the 4WD
Modified class. Chris was hooked and later joined the TEMRA Committee 
as  Promotions Officer. In 2005 Chris was appointed to the position of 
Treasurer for the Motor Sports Council and was actively involved in the 
implementation  of MotorSports NT. In 2005 Chris was appointed as 
President for Top End  Mud Racing Association and is also current 
Treasurer of MotorSports NT. 

MOTORSPORTS NT CONSTITUTION

The objects and purposes of 
the Association are as follows: 
 To ensure that motor sport in the Northern Territory is carried out in a manner which
 secures and enhances the safety of participants, officials, spectators and the public and 
which allows the sport to be competitive and fair.

To promote and protect motor sport within the relevant national rules in relation to the varying
 types of motor sport conducted throughout the Northern Territory
To coordinate and guard the interests of Affiliated Clubs and actively encourage 
Affiliated Clubs to be involved in the business of the Association.
